‘Where the heart is, there is scouting’ – gratitude to the ZHR troop – ‘Łuna’

On Sunday, 22 June 2025, girl scouts from the Łuna ZHR (Polish Scouting Association) troop carried out a so-called fundraising campaign – an initiative in which they independently, of their own free will and idea, organise activities to raise funds for a selected, noble cause.

In a world where young people are often distracted by screens and the daily rat race, these girls decided to devote their time and energy to helping others – the charges of the Mają Przyszłość Foundation.

They baked cakes themselves, sold them after church services, talked to people and proudly raised funds for children who really need it.
This was not a ‘school fundraiser’. It was a real service. From the heart, on their own initiative and based on their values. They also managed to convey an important message to the buyers – the donors who took notice: at the foundation, we support both children from the Global South and those with disabilities in Poland.

The funds raised – as much as PLN 912.60! – will be distributed according to the most urgent needs of both groups.

We would like to thank everyone who bought a cake from the bottom of our hearts – we hope it was delicious! But more importantly, each purchase was a gesture of support and solidarity.

A huge thank you also goes to the parents of the Girl Guides – for allowing their daughters to take part in this campaign, for trusting them, encouraging them and supporting their commitment.
It is thanks to parents like these that young people who want to change the world for the better are growing up.

‘Where the heart is, there is scouting’ — this motto reminds us that scouting is primarily about the attitude and values that scouts carry within themselves, regardless of the activities they undertake.
When organising a fundraising campaign, scouts are not only motivated by the desire to earn money, but above all by the desire to serve and take responsibility for their team and local community. Every pound earned is an investment in developing skills, implementing joint projects and helping others.
What they do is deeply meaningful because they do it with their hearts.
Thanks to this, the ‘heart’ of scouting beats not only in traditions and rituals, but also in practical activities that teach responsibility, cooperation and entrepreneurship.
