The moving day has come to the built orphanage in Kenya!

We have run this project since 2016, and it was when we first met Regina – a retired social  worker who is now a mother with a life mission. She has raised her own four children. She and  her husband created a unique home, not a nursery where you collect money for children’s help  without end and keep up difficult conditions to arouse donors’ mercy, but a real orphanage.

This home is unusual and unique – they both try their children to stay in their house as short as  possible! The most important thing is to quickly find the destination house for the children with a  complete family(adoption in Kenya or an international one). Because they are both emergency  care and foster family for disabled children, each day is challenging.

They try to take utmost care of every baby and toddler and provide rehabilitation for children  with special needs. For the elderly, they provide the best education in primary, secondary, or  eventually special schools.

The bills and house rental costs have gobbled up most incomes and donations for years. On this  February Saturday afternoon, the whole family has moved to a house, which we have helped  build for three years!

The house has not finished yet – many works will take place in the coming months because we  run out of funds at this stage. We tried to ensure that basic installations and main rooms were habitable,  mainly because there are infants and a few children with special needs under Regina and Steve’s  care. It was essential to have a room for other babysitters who help take care of children in  shift mode.

The first deadline for eviction was set in October – they had to leave the last house on 31  December 2019. Because of extreme floods in Kenya, which destroyed many homes and led to  the loss of many human lives, construction was impossible. The owner agreed to prolong this  time until the end of February. This date, however, was final.

We will soon show you the plan for further works and how the house currently looks like. At this moment, the family has had to move into a new place – and it is still partially the construction  site. We wish that reality would be different, but the circumstances don’t allow us to wait any longer.

Today – WE THANK YOU BEAUTIFULLY for each 1 PLN for this purpose!
They have taken up residence!

In the photo, we see Regina and Steve after moving into the house – together with them, there is  a cluster of children who they take care of.
